Product Description
ROMEO Y JULIETA CORONITAS EN CEDRO
The Romeo y Julieta Coronitas en Cedro is a handmade Cuban Petit Corona presented in one of the brand’s most recognisable traditional formats. Each slender cigar measures 129 mm with a 40 ring gauge and is individually wrapped in a sheet of cedar.
This current regular-production Habano has origins dating to before 1960. Historical versions were machine-made, while current production is handmade.
THE CEDAR-WRAPPED PRESENTATION
“En Cedro” refers to the individual cedar sheet wrapped around each cigar. Twenty-five cedar-wrapped Coronitas are arranged inside a traditional Romeo y Julieta dress box.
Beyond its distinctive appearance, the cedar contributes to the recognisable aroma when the box is opened. This current presentation should not be confused with the discontinued version that combined cedar sheets with individual cellophane wrapping.
SMOKING CHARACTER
Habanos classifies Romeo y Julieta as a medium-strength brand, recognised for its aromatic and balanced character.
The Coronitas en Cedro commonly develops around cedar, toasted tobacco and leather, followed by earthy coffee notes and measured pepper. Its slender 40 ring gauge can produce a more focused smoking character than Romeo y Julieta’s wider formats, particularly when smoked quickly.
These characteristics are a guide rather than a guarantee. Handmade Cuban cigars naturally vary according to box age, storage conditions and smoking pace.
FORMAT AND OCCASION
At 129 mm, the Coronitas en Cedro offers the traditional proportions of a Petit Corona without requiring the longer time commitment of a Churchill or larger cigar.
Allow approximately 30–40 minutes. It is well suited to an after-dinner cigar, a quiet coffee break or a shorter evening session. Black coffee, aged rum or a lighter-style whisky can complement its cedar, tobacco and gentle spice.
