ROMEO Y JULIETA ROMEO NO. 2 TUBOS

The Romeo y Julieta Romeo No. 2 is a classic medium-strength Cuban Petit Corona made for smokers who want the traditional aromatic Romeo y Julieta character in a practical, individually tubed presentation.

Measuring 129 mm with a 42 ring gauge, it sits between the longer Romeo No. 1 and the shorter Romeo No. 3. Its balanced proportions provide a satisfying Cuban cigar experience without demanding the time required for a Churchill or larger format.

This box contains 25 handmade Romeo No. 2 cigars, each protected inside its own aluminium tube.

A CLASSIC CUBAN CIGAR IN TUBOS

The Romeo No. 2 has been part of the Romeo y Julieta portfolio since before 1960 and remains in regular production.

Its aluminium tube provides additional protection against physical damage and makes the cigar convenient for travelling, gifting or carrying for an evening out. The tube does not replace proper humidor storage, particularly when the cigars are being kept for an extended period.

Twenty-five individually tubed cigars are arranged inside a traditional Romeo y Julieta labelled dress box.

SMOKING CHARACTER

Habanos classifies Romeo y Julieta as a medium-strength brand, recognised for its balanced and aromatic style.

The Romeo No. 2 commonly develops around cedar, toasted tobacco and gentle earth, accompanied by floral elements, nuts, cocoa-like sweetness and measured pepper. Its 42 ring gauge keeps the profile focused while allowing more rounded smoke than the slimmer Romeo No. 1 or No. 3.

These tasting characteristics are a guide rather than a guarantee. Handmade Cuban cigars naturally vary according to production date, storage, wrapper characteristics and smoking pace.

FORMAT AND OCCASION

Habanos recommends approximately 30 minutes for the Romeo No. 2, although a slower smoking pace may extend the experience.

Its compact Petit Corona format works well for a coffee break, an early-evening cigar or an after-dinner smoke when a larger format would require too much time. The individually tubed presentation also makes it a practical Cuban cigar for travel and gifting.

Black coffee, aged rum or a balanced whisky can complement its cedar, toasted tobacco and gentle sweetness.

WHERE ROMEO NO. 2 FITS IN THE SERIES

The three numbered Romeo y Julieta Tubos offer the same medium-strength brand character in different dimensions:

  • Romeo No. 1: 140 mm × 40 ring gauge — the longest and most slender of the three.
  • Romeo No. 2: 129 mm × 42 ring gauge — the central, slightly wider Petit Corona.
  • Romeo No. 3: 117 mm × 40 ring gauge — the shortest option for a quicker smoke.

Romeo No. 2 is the balanced middle choice: shorter than No. 1 but longer and wider than No. 3.

STORAGE GUIDANCE

Although the aluminium tubes provide physical protection and slow environmental changes, they are not a substitute for a properly maintained humidor.

For stable medium- to long-term storage, keep the cigars at approximately 65–69% relative humidity and 18–21°C. The cigars may remain inside their closed tubes while stored in the humidor.

After delivery, allow them to rest before assessing their draw, burn or flavour. Box codes, tube designs, wrapper shades and natural leaf characteristics may vary between production batches.

Please contact Cigars Europe before ordering if a particular box date or tube design is essential to your purchase.
